Creator Competition

This February only, Character.AI is hosting a creator competition where eligible existing users located in Brazil can earn points when other users engage in a qualifying chat with their qualifying Character per the conditions outlined below (the 'Creator Competition'). At the end of the Creator Competition period, Character.AI will select three (3) users who earn the most points to win a cash prize or free c.ai+ for one (1) year.

Who can participate

In order to participate in the Creator Competition, you must be a registered Character.AI user who, as of February 1, 2025, is at least 18 years old located in Brazil. You must agree to Character.AI's Terms of Service ("Terms") and acknowledge Character.AI's Privacy Policy in order to be eligible to participate in the Creator Competition.

How to participate - what, when, and how

It is free to participate in the Creator Competition. In order to participate in the Creator Competition, you must follow the instructions provided by Character.AI.

The Creator Competition will take place starting at 12:00am Pacific Standard Time on February 1, 2025 and ending at 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time on February 28, 2025.

Points System

Eligible creators can earn points when other users chat with their qualifying Character (defined below) as follows:

  • When another user who registered as a user of Character.AI before February 1, 2025 Pacific Standard Time chats with your qualifying Character, you will earn 1 point.
  • When another user who registered as a user of Character.AI on or after February 1, 2025 Pacific Standard Time chats with your qualifying Character, you will earn 3 points.

Qualifying Character Requirements

Only chats with qualifying Characters are eligible to earn points. A qualifying Character:

  • Is a Character as defined in the Terms;
  • Must be created by you between 12:00am Pacific Standard Time on February 1, 2025 and 11:59pm Pacific Standard Time on February 28, 2025;
  • Must have a Character definition, description, and greeting in Portuguese; and
  • Cannot be romantic, a public figure, use existing intellectual property, or violate Character.AI's Terms of Service.

Only qualifying AI-generated chat communications with qualifying Characters that are organically generated by users are eligible to earn points. Character.AI reserves the right to assess whether a chat is a qualifying chat in its sole determination. Chats with bot users are not qualifying chats and are thus not eligible to earn points. If bot users chat with your qualifying Characters, Character.AI reserves the right to disqualify you from the Creator Competition in its sole determination.

Prizes and how winner(s) will be selected

At the end of the Creator Competition period, Character.AI will select the three (3) users who earned the most points during the Creator Competition. The user who earns the most points will receive R$10,000 (ten thousand Brazilian Real, approximately $1,700 US dollars) within 10 days of claiming the prize. The users who earn the second and third most points, respectively, will receive free c.ai+ for one (1) year within 10 days of claiming the prize.

In the event of a tie between two or more users for the most points at the end of the Creator Competition, the winning users will equally split the cash prize of R$10,000 (ten thousand Brazilian Real, approximately $1,700 US dollars) within 10 days of claiming the prize.

In the event of a tie between two or more users for the second and third most points, respectively, at the end of the Creator Competition, the winning users will each receive free c.ai+ for one (1) year within 10 days of claiming the prize.

Prize Notification:

If you are selected as a winner, Character.AI will contact you via email to notify you that you have won. The winners will have three (3) days to respond to the prize notification in order to claim their prize. If the winners do not respond to the prize notification within three (3) days of receiving the prize notification, they will forfeit the prize and Character.AI will select another winner with the next highest amount of points.

The selection of three (3) winners is solely within Character.AI's discretion and constitutes a final, binding decision by Character.AI. By entering the Creator Competition, you agree to abide by Character.AI's sole determination of the three (3) users who win the Creator Competition.

Other Terms

Right to cancel or modify

Character.AI reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Creator Competition if any issue prevents the Creator Competition from running as planned.

Release

By entering this Creator Competition, you agree to release and hold Character.AI harmless from and against any claim associated with the Creator Competition.

Limitation of liability

Character.AI is not responsible and cannot be held liable for technical errors or other things that may prevent the Creator Competition from running as planned. To the extent permitted by applicable law, you understand and agree that Character.AI will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or damages for loss of profits including but not limited to damages for loss of goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses (even if Character.AI has been advised of the possibility of such damages), whether based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise, resulting from the Creator Competition.

Right to substitute

Character.AI reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.

License

Reminder that under our Terms of Service, you grant Character.AI a license to your Character, which among other things allows Character.AI to post it on our social platforms.

 

 

Tips to win:

  • Create a new character (only new Characters created in February will count). Characters cannot be romantic, based on a public figure, or use existing intellectual property. Character name, definition, and greeting must be in Portuguese.
  • You earn 3 points for every new user that signs up for Character.AI in the month of February who chats with your character and 1 point for each existing Character.AI user who chats with your character.
  • Share your character with your friends and on social media like Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook, etc.
  • We will detect any attempts to automate or otherwise create fraudulent chats or accounts. If we detect any suspicious activity it will result in your disqualification.
