Hey everyone,
As we shared in our previous announcement on Reddit, the old/beta site has been fully retired on September 24, 2024. With this transition to the new site, we are able to allocate resources to focus on improvements, better address your Character feedback, and improve overall server stability. We know that there are some features and designs from the old site you really love. We hear you and are working hard to implement these in the new site. Please read below for additional information regarding:

Chat Migration (FAQ)
What happens to chats from the old/beta site?
Your recent chats are available for chatting on the new site or mobile app. If you would like to migrate chats older than 6 months, you can manually migrate them by locating the chat in your history and clicking on “Migrate chats”.
What to do if I'm missing chats?
Migration is currently in progress and may take a few days. If you'd like to access your chats before then, you can manually migrate by opening the chat and clicking on "Migrate chat now". Longer chats that have not been active for a while may take longer to migrate. Please check back after an hour.
Will I lose my chats?
All chats will be preserved and migrated. Once migration is complete, you can access your chats on the new site or mobile app.
Can I still access the old site?
The old website is no longer accessible. All chats will be available on the new site and mobile app.
Where should I report issues, bugs, or downtime?
Please go to discord.gg/characterai or submit a ticket at support.character.ai

Character Rooms: Thank you everyone who participated in the Character Rooms Poll. Our team is taking in all of the feedback and suggestions and we’ll share an update here soon!
New Features on the way! Thanks to your feedback and feature requests, we’re excited to share that the following features are rolling out for all users for free over the next few weeks:
- Archive Chats: Archive your previous conversations for better organization.
- Rename Chats: Personalize your chats by giving them custom names.
- Duplicate Chats: Copy conversations to continue them in a new direction without losing progress.
UI Chat Improvements: We know some of you have mentioned missing the look and feel of the old site. We hear you and we’re happy to share that the following will be made available on the new site for everyone:

- Quick Navigation Arrow
Accessibility Improvements: We are committed to making Character.AI more accessible, and will be implementing updates to improve usability for all users in the coming weeks as well.
User Voting: In addition to more Polls and User Feedback events, we’re currently setting-up User Voting where you can vote for your favorite features! Stay tuned for a separate announcement for this over the next few weeks.
